Does
Saada Snickerdoodle - Sold!
Snickers is a smooth, powerful doe that is very well blended. Her udder is simply fantastic, easily the best in the herd so far. It is very wide and smoothly attached, with the nice, smooth fore. I am very, very impressed with this doe's udder! Her teat placement is nearly perfect, not too far out to the side, and the teats are even and a nice size for hand milking.
Saada Apache Tears - Sold!
Apache is a black doe with white spots and brown ears - very pretty! I feel very lucky to have this doeling, as she has SGCH Saada's Lemon Albedo as a major contributor to her pedigree. Both her sire and granddam were recently awarded the Superior Genetics (SG) designation! Apache has good structure and rear end assembly with good width and a high, gorgeously wide escutcheon. She is developing a nice body capacity and depth, and I hope she will carry through with the tradition of strong breed characteristics and fabulous milk production. Unfortunately, her dam, Saada Blue Micah Jaydo, passed away soon after kidding due to recurring mastitis and we don't have any photos of her udder, but Micah had a high, wide rear udder and a fantastic foreudder. Her sire, Gandolf, has also passed on. Apache had been bred to Famous for 2008, but unfortunately, her new owner lost her to pregnancy toxemia and probably hypocalcemia this spring. Apache will be greatly missed.
Jacob's Pride Rock Steady - Sold!
I had the chance to add Jacob's Pride Rock Steady to my herd, and couldn't pass up the opportunity. I really like Steady's udder, she is great for hand milking. She has given me wonderful offspring to work with, and I look forward to hearing of her show career. Steady's dam has a phenomenal LA score for a first freshener. I can only hope this girl's beautiful traits will be passed on to her offspring and grand-offspring! She's a granddaughter of SGCH Tawa's Tessa, a doe I really admire.
Bucks
Celtic Stars Apollo
Apollo wasn't really a "planned" event - I won him in a breeder's raffle at the Idaho Syringa Dairy Goat Show! He is a very well-bred little guy - and so sweet and easy to handle. His ancestors on his sire's side go back to Goldthwaite and his dam's to Kastdemur's, Cactus*Point, and Crown Hill. I grow more impressed with Apollo as he matures. He is a long and very level, with good width in the chest and rump. He is very smooth, collected, and uphill. Apollo has great shoulder and leg set, and walks impressively wide at the hocks with a high escutcheon. He has very nice spring of rib, and such beautiful, pliable dairy skin! I'm hoping to get better pics of him when I get help taking them - he's so friendly, he's glued to your legs and wants to give kisses. Not the best situation for ad-lib photos! His sire, Celtic Stars Draco, passes on a wonderful temperament, outstanding feet and legs, and he has dozens of kids in the winner's circle. Apollo's dam, Cactus*Point Kiss This, has a high, tightly attached rear udder and a long foreudder with easy to milk teats. I'm hoping to get photos of her udder sometime soon. She is extremely long and dairy, with a smooth topline and nice shoulder and leg set. Apollo was used in my mini breeding program, but I never got girls to keep. Apollo's only kids were both boys...if they were girls, they would definitely have been kept.
