We strive to produce quality produce at the ranch. The main focus will be largely on heirloom or unusual varieties. We are planning a farm stand, so check back with us this summer! Although all produce on the ranch is produced without pesticides or herbicides, we are not yet organically certified. We use organic fertilizers like feathermeal, Azomite®, and Island Seed and Feed's special blend, their Organic Landscape Mix.
Winter 2007/2008 Crops This winter, we will be planting several different varieties of garlic - Early Italian Purple, Oregon Blue, Burgundy, and Elephant Garlic. These will be sold as seed garlic at Island Seed and Feed for you to plant in your own garden next fall.

Avocados We grow mostly Hass avocados. This year, we should have a heavier spring and summer crop as we had many trees flower out of season last year.
Spring and Summer 2008 Planned Crops I hope to plant a full complement of summer heirloom produce - tomatoes, squash, peppers, melons, corn, and so forth. We will also be planting two types of sweet corn for seed corn, to be sold next year at Island Seed and Feed. The hope is that we can develop a strain of open-pollinated sweet corn that will do well in our area. Keep checking back for updates! Goat's Milk Next spring we should have PET ONLY goat's milk for sale. Why for pets only? Because the laws surrounding the production and sale of fluid milk and dairy products are very strict. As a small farm and ranch, we cannot afford to build a Grade A dairy and have it inspected. This does not mean that the milk isn't good - it just means we don't have $100,000 to spare.
